Dear Reader,
Welcome to Booklyn.co, an online book application with many handy tools to assist you with your reading. We designed and developed Booklyn.co to help you, the Reader, read books faster, easier, and longer, and to help you learn new languages with ease.
One problem many of us readers get is eye fatigue due to prolonged use of the muscles that control our eye movements and our pupils. Our eyes go through excessive use while reading. As you're reading this, your pupils are moving from left to right and from top to bottom, repeatedly, which can cause tired and dry eyes after reading for long periods.
To better help reduce getting tired eyes, Booklyn.co has two panels for reading: the book panel and the reader's panel. Depending on the size of your monitor screen, you may see both panels side-by-side, or there may be a button to toggle between the panels. The reader's panel (or the panel to your right) has a few controls up top. We'll start with the "skip" buttons for now: WORD, SENTENCE, and PARAGRAPH. By clicking the SENTENCE button, for example, you'll be skipping each sentence, and as you do, the sentence will appear in the reader's panel. Rather than having your eyes bounce around, looking at words, you can set your eyes on the reader's panel and skip sentences and paragraphs while reading. Not only will this limit your eye movement, but it will also help you read much faster. Try it out for yourself. If you don't want to repeatedly click on the buttons, there's a keyboard shortcut guide link at the footer.
Have you always wanted to learn a new language, but found it difficult? With Booklyn.co's translation and speech recognition features, you'll be able to read aloud into a microphone enunciating words, while also reading the translation in your vernacular language. To start, all you have to do is click the START button in the reader's panel. If you prefer to read silently, you can always highlight any words or sentences for translation. You can also try the "skip" feature and translate the word, sentence, or paragraph while speed reading. Booklyn.co currently supports English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, French, and Polish.
The Booklyn.co team is currently working on Artificial Intelligence (AI) features for Booklyn.co. At the moment, you can ask Booklyn.co about the page you are reading. We are training the AI models to comprehend books by page, chapter, entire books, and all the books as a collective whole. Other AI features we plan to release in the future are book summarization, language and grammar learning, machine book writing, a digital personal assistant, and more.
The book panel (or the panel to your left) has all your standard eReader functionality. If you prefer to read the old-fashioned way, you can do so by just sticking to the book panel. Other features include a dictionary, highlighting text with the capability to share on social media, word pronunciation, searching text, and bookmarking.
Booklyn.co is currently in beta, which means there may be a few bugs. If you do encounter any issues, have any ideas, or want to tell us what you think about Booklyn.co, please contact us. We're working on many new significant components, such as a community for readers, uploading PDFs, a physical reading device, comic books, and features for learning math, science, and programming. Booklyn.co currently offers more than 300 free books in the public domain, and we're gradually adding more. We plan to have millions of books once we move out of beta. We hope Booklyn.co will enhance your reading experience and help you learn a new language. If you do, please share your story with us, and we will share it with the world.
Yours truly,
The Booklyn.co team
